Easter Chocolate Nest Doughnuts

Easter treats don’t get better than this! Soft, fluffy doughnuts are topped with a chocolate glaze, chocolate sprinkles and tasty mini eggs.

Ingredients
- 100g Self-raising Flour
- 25g Cocoa Powder
- 125g Caster Sugar
- Pinch of Salt
- 125ml Milk
- 1 Medium Egg
- 30g Vegetable Oil
Chocolate Glaze
- 100g Dark Chocolate
- 30ml Double Cream
- 1 tbsp Butter
To Decorate
- 25g Dark Chocolate
- 80g Mini Eggs
- 6 Hole metal doughnut tin greased with butter
Method
- Preheat the oven to 190C/170C fan/GM5.
- Place all the dry ingredients for the doughnuts into a large mixing bowl and mix until fully combined.
- Place all the wet ingredients into a separate bowl and whisk to combine.
- Add the wet ingredients into the dry and whisk until fully combined and smooth.
- Divide the mixture between the 6 doughnut moulds (they will be quite full).
- Bake for 15 minutes until cooked through and then leave to cool.
- While the doughnuts cool make the chocolate flakes for the nest by grating the 25g of chocolate using a peeler.
- To make the glaze melt the dark chocolate, along with the double cream and butter, in a small bowl in the microwave for 30 second blasts until melted and stir until smooth.
- Dip the doughnuts into the chocolate glaze.
- Sprinkle the grated chocolate on top of the doughnuts to create a nest.
- Place 3 mini eggs in the centre of each doughnut and serve.
