Hunters Chicken

The ultimate comfort food, this easy yet tasty Hunters Chicken is a classic for a reason!

Ingredients

  • 4 x Chicken breasts
  • 8 x Rashers streaky dry cured bacon
  • 100g Grated cheddar cheese

For the BBQ sauce:

  • 150g Tomato ketchup
  • 30g Dark brown sugar
  • 15g English mustard
  • 20g Squeezy honey
  • 25ml White wine vinegar
  • 50ml water
  • 1 x tsp Paprika

  

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°c / 400°f/ gas mark 6.
  2. Wrap two rashers of bacon around each chicken breast in a cross pattern.
  3. Put the chicken breasts onto a metal baking tray and roast for 25 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, make the BBQ sauce.
  5. Put all the ingredients into a small saucepan – and gently heat to melt the sugar.
  6. Transfer the chicken breasts to an oven proof dish.
  7. Pour the sauce around the breasts – sprinkle over the cheese and bake for another 10 minutes.
