Ingredients
- 2 x 320g Pack puff pastry
- 8 x Slices honey roast ham
- 8 x Slices edam cheese
- 1 x Medium egg
- 10ml Milk
- 10 x Pitted green olives
- 30g Garlic and herb butter
- Black pepper
- 10 Kebab skewers
Method
Preheat the oven to 200c/400f/gas 6.
Line some baking sheets with non-stick paper and unroll one sheet of pastry.
Put a layer of the ham slices over the top of the pastry then top this with a layer of the cheese slices.
Unroll the other sheet of pastry and put over the top of the cheese. Using a sharp knife, cut the pastries in 10 long strips.
Zig zag each of the strips – to make the shape of a Christmas tree then gently put a skewer through the pastry to keep in shape. Place them onto the baking sheets.
Crack the egg in a bowl, season with some black pepper and whisk with the milk – use this to glaze the trees.
Bake in the oven for 20/25 mins – till golden and puffed up. Whilst they are still warm melt the butter and brush over the trees then top each one with an olive and serve – hot or cold.
