Savoury Masala French Toast

Up your toast game with this twist on a classic.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices soft White Farmhouse Loaf
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 680ml Semi-Skimmed Milk
  • 50g Red Onion
  • 5g Green Chilli
  • 100g Cherry Tomatoes
  • 7g Fresh Coriander
  • ½ tsp Curry Powder
  • ½ tsp Turmeric
  • Sea Salt and Black Pepper
  • 25ml Sunflower Oil
  • 25g Salted Butter
  • Sriracha Sauce, to serve

  

Method

  1. Crack the eggs in a bowl and whisk with the milk.
  2. Finely dice the red onion and chilli and add to the bowl, along with the curry powder, turmeric, salt and pepper.
  3. Roughly chop the coriander and add this to the bowl and mix well.
  4. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half.
  5. Dip the bread slices into the egg mixture – coating both sides.
  6. Push the tomatoes into the bread on both sides.
  7. Heat the oil and butter in a large frying pan and fry the bread for a couple of minutes on each side until golden brown.
  8. Serve alongside some sriracha sauce.
