Homemade herb garden

Did you know? You can re-pot herbs you buy from our shelves, such as Basil, Mint and Rosemary, and have your own herb garden at home. Below are some of our favourites.

  • You can plant your leftover coriander outdoors from spring onwards. Water well, before and after planting. Coriander leaves, stems and flowers are all edible and can be harvested from mid-summer onwards.

  • Place mint plants in moist, drained soil that gets full sun/partial shade. If growing outdoors, it's best to grow in a pot as mint can compete with neighbouring plants. To keep your mint plant healthy, cut it regularly.

Grass seed SOS

Worried you’re overwatering or struggling to get your seeds to grow? If you’ve got a question, take a look through our FAQs below and let’s get your garden looking glorious!

  • The best time for lawn seeds to germinate is between early autumn and mid-spring when the soil is warm and moist. In this environment, germination should take just seven to ten days.
  • Your grass should begin to grow about 8-10 days after sowing. After 6-8 weeks, the grass will be fully grown, and you’ll have a lush green lawn!
  • There are a few reasons why this might be happening! It could be you aren’t watering your seed enough or it could be the seeds are sitting on top of dry and hard soil. Alternatively, they could be buried too deep.
  • To get the most out of your grass, sown seeds need to be moist. Water once or twice a day for roughly 3-4 weeks, depending on weather, and then once germination has started, you can ease off watering as frequently.
