Medlar Fruit Farm

Medlar Fruit Farm is a family business where three generations of the Bell family produce deliciously sweet British strawberries. In the spring, their strawberries are some of the first to be available anywhere. In the summer, the delicate fruit is picked by hand at sunrise to avoid the heat of the day, ensuring that the freshest fruit is delivered to stores.

Grown for Aldi in Lancashire

Medlar Fruit Farm

Their strawberries are grown through the winter under polytunnels using a biomass boiler, which heats the plants so they think it's summer and produce their delicious fruit.

Lusa Strawberries

Medlar Fruit Farm uses the Lusa variety of strawberry. It grows well when heated in the winter with a lovely heart shape, a ruby red colour and a full, sweet, juicy flavour.
