We’ve teamed up with Team GB nutritionist Nigel Mitchell to champion the importance of your diet on your mood and everyday life – creating bespoke low-cost recipes to suit all the family.
New research from Aldi found that a quarter (25%) of Brits reach for comfort foods at least five times a week, but more than half (56%) of us admit the foods we turn to often end up making us feel far worse.
With the research also showing that 69% say it’s the cost putting them off eating healthier meals, and a quarter (24%) saying they simply lack inspiration, we’ve worked with Nigel to create some solutions.
The ‘Happy Recipes’ feature five nutrient rich and well-round recipes which all come in at less than £1.50 per serving.
Nigel has just returned from the Winter Olympics where he has been busy working with Team GB’s cross-country ski team - helping them achieve their performance goals through diet and nutrition.
Nigel said: “It’s fascinating how our bodies react to certain foods, and when our mood is low, we do tend to turn to things that give us a sense of comfort. While there’s nothing wrong with having a treat from time to time, it’s also really important that we are aware of the link between our diets and mood to ensure we incorporate foods that can have a positive impact too.”
